Abstract
In this study, thin layers of pure and tungsten-doped iron oxide alpha phase (  a-Fe₂O₃) deposited on glass substrates were synthesized using the spray pyrolysis method, and investigated. Due to their diverse properties, these thin layers have wide applications in catalysts, sensors, solar cells, and magnets. Structural (XRD, FTIR, AFM), Magnetic (VSM), and Optical Analyses were performed. The results showed that tungsten doping increased particle size (85-120 nm), improved surface smoothness, reduced surface roughness and hardness, as well as caused significant changes in magnetic and optical properties. In particular, the saturation magnetization increased, and the band gap of the material increased. It appears that tungsten doping provides a good potential for optical and magnetic applications in these thin layers.
